Apple Pie Bake-Off Rules - OCTOBER 15, 2022
There are a few rules that must be followed when making your pie!
How and When Do I Turn In My Pie?
All Pies must be delivered to the Festival grounds at Kinsmen Park in West Kelowna, between 12pm and 12:45pm on Saturday the 16th of October. Please deliver pies to the volunteers at the main entrance, who will ensure they are taken to the judging area of the festival. We will not be accepting any late entries, so make sure to get your pies to the festival on time!
**if you are under 16, please make sure you have a parent/guardian’s permission to enter**
How Do We Choose a Winner?
Pies will be judged on appearance, flavour, texture and colour (and evenness of size if individual). Judging will commence at the main event tent from 1:00pm on Saturday the 15th of October with winners being contacted immediately with prizes available for collection.
What are the Prizes?
There are a range of prizes including a gourmet produce hamper, cafe vouchers, cider, and more and award ribbons! Each division will have a Winner’s prize, Runner Up Prize, and People’s Choice Prize.
There are two divisions; adult division and under 16 division. One winner and one runner up will be chosen from each division
Entry Fee: $25
There are a few rules that must be followed when making your pie!
- Pies must be handed in on disposable plates/aluminum pie dishes (please try to use recyclable/biodegradable where possible)
- Each pie must have the name and phone number of the maker clearly marked on the bottom.
- Pies must be apple filling only, no mixed fruits.
- Pies may be any shape and any type. i.e: open top, enclosed, latticed, rustic etc.
- Pies may be any size. If pies are individual rather than one large pie, please provide at least three samples.
