Kids Club Van Sponsorship
Beacon’s Furry FUNdation Society is a local non-profit organization which provides much-needed services and programming to Central Okanagan children. This includes funding for medical needs, meals and day-to-day items for families in need; we also provide children with arts programs, supplies and equipment.
Our goal is to provide a ‘helping paw’ to empower families and children to achieve their full potential and reduce worry, as the cost-of-living skyrockets and more families struggle to make ends meet.
Providing these much-needed services to local children is only possible with the help of the community, and now Beacon’s is hoping to gain your support to fund our Kids’ Club Transportation Program.
Through the purchase of a larger transportation van, it will enable the Kids’ Club to pick up children from three West Kelowna elementary schools to participate in club activities. The program also provides transportation for more than 30 field trips for Club members during the summer camps.
“Our transportation program has allowed us to reach so many kids who needed us and who didn’t have access to us before,” says Cori Inman, President of Beacon’s Furry FUNdation Society. “Once those kids are in our doors, we’re able to do the real work.”
That includes providing children with a safe place to learn and explore to help them succeed, develop good character and live healthy lifestyles.
“If it weren’t for the current shuttle, which picks up the kids each day, none of our work would be possible, so we’re asking the community to help us raise the funds needed to purchase a larger shuttle to hold more children.
“Even $1 will make a difference. I know we can raise this money because I’ve seen how the community rallies around its people, but it’s not going to be easy and it’s not going to happen if we don’t all step up to support these children.”
